Mioko Yokoyama, a Japanese pianist, studied composition at the Tokyo University of the Arts (with Eisuke Tsuchida, Kenjiro Urata and Manabu Kawai) and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (with Veli-Matti Puumala).
Mioko Yokoyama has a dual career as a teacher and composer. She teaches music (piano, composition and solfeggio) to young students in Japan and, still today, in Helsinki where she lives, she trains young people as well as adults at the Sibelius Academy, aspiring to give a compositional and music theory perspective to her piano instruction.
