Francesca Verunelli

Francesca Verunelli studied composition at the conservatory of Florence. She finished her studies at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome, with Azio Corghi and then studied at IRCAM in the Cursus program. Winner of the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale, Verunelli has been composer in residence at IRCAM, at the GMEM in Marseille, at the Casa de Velasquez (2015-16) and at the Villa Medici (2016-17).

She has received commissions from important institutions and festivals including Ircam, NeueVocalsolisten Stuttgart, Biennale di Venezia, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Milano Musica, Accentus, Lucerne Symphonic Orchestra, Court-circuit, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, GMEM, CIRM, FACE Foundation, Festival de Wittener, ICE, Donaueschinger MusikTage, ECLAT, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Klangforum Wien.
