
Composer and artist Elena Rykova explores a wide variety of genres in the fields of music and visual arts, addressing interdisciplinary and performative arts as well as chamber and electroacoustic music. She brings together instruments and found objects, augmenting each with the other and creating performative musical situations, often with a strong visual aspect. Her scores are characterized by an innovative use of non-traditional notations and have been exhibited in museums. She has produced chamber works, music theater, and musical performances for the most prestigious music ensembles and festivals. She is currently a doctoral student in composition at Harvard University.
