Clemens Gadenstätter trained as a flautist and studied composition with Erich Urbanner and Helmut Lachenmann. In his work he explores the compositional possibilities of resynthesis of perceptions, sensations and emotions. This in turn should normally summon the trinity of listening/understanding/composition.
His recent works concern the transformation, by acoustic stimuli, of pre-formed emotions (E.P.O.S.: les premiers cris, les cris des lumières, les derniers cris ), daily life and work (Semantical Investigations 1 and 2 ), the poly-modality of listening as well as musical iconography (ICONOSONICS ). Today, Gadenstätter renews his involvement in other disciplines such as light, video, staging, text, and films.
